What is the difference between MySQL and Oracle?

Some of the main differences between MySQL and Oracle are as follows:

  • Authentication: In MySQL there is an additional field location that is used for user authentication. Location parameter generally contains hostname, IP address or a wild card.
  • Privileges: In MySQL, privileges given to users and groups are in hierarchical system. Privileges available at a higher level are also granted to lower levels in same hierarchy.At lower levels there is also an option of overriding the privileges passed from higher level.
